Baysour, Aley district
Situated in the village of Baysour in Mount Lebanon, the Jamil Molaeb Museum was built between the years 2011 and 2015 by the artist Jamil Molaeb. The museum is near his atelier and traditional house, where he was born and raised. It is the home of his paintings, sculptures and mosaics. The museum also offers an exceptional permanent collection of paintings by other Lebanese masters from the 19th and 20th century.
The museum hosts the Molaeb Festival for Chamber Music and Fine Arts. Every year this international festival hosts musicians from around the world to perform chamber music concerts at the museum, and sometimes in different venues in Beirut. Being resident at the charming Mount Lebanon village, guest artists and musicians will get to learn about Lebanese art, and life culture, likewise exchanging culture with the locals.
