Saida, Saida district
Between the Sea Castle and the Castle of St. Louis stretches Saida's old city, which is one of Lebanon's most characterful and authentic souk area. It is a delight to wander the narrow lanes, ducking into tunnels and discovering venerable buildings along the way. There, you'll find the the picturesque vaulted souk, where workmen still ply their trades. The Saida souks have been recently refurbished but keep their old charm with the original architecture and small stall designs. You'll find clothing, hardware, homemade soap, wood working, shoes, furniture, falafels, and even lingerie. You can easily spend a whole day in the souks searching for a unique souvenir.
