Gemmayzeh, Beirut district
Located in Gemmayzeh, Beirut, this roman style Maronite church with variegated, oriental stone arches was built in 1875. It is known for its arcades and its quarried stones. The church’s most beautiful part is its stained glass windows and the white marble altar, which is surmounted by a portrait of St. Maroun, painted by Daoud El Corm.
