Saida, Saida district
Facing the northern tip of Saida's harbor, in the south, the Omari Grand Mosque ( Al Omari Al Kabir Mosque ) is said to be one of the finest examples of Islamic religious architecture of the 13th century. Named after the second orthodox caliph, Omar Ben El-Khattab, its architecture is a mix of Crusader and Mamluk styles. It was subject to many restorations and enlargements during the Ottoman period. The mosque is open to non-Muslims outside prayer times.
