Qobbayat, Aakkar district
The Karm Chbat Nature Reserve is located on the heights of Kobayat village in the Akkar caza, in northern Lebanon. Its estimated area is around 520 hectares with an altitude ranging between 1,400 and 1,900m above sea level. It has a rich biodiversity and comprises numerous species of trees such as old cedars, junipers, fir, Turkish oak and bear’s plums. It is a living space for rare animals such as squirrels, foxes, hyenas, wild boars, wolves and several birds species including partridges, hoopoes, sparrowhawks, Eurasian Jays, buzzards, bee-eaters, fieldfares, vultures, crows.
