This section starts near Mar Takla church behind the fence and follows the paved road leading to Afqa cave. Pass the bridge and head left towards the juniper forest along the dirt road, passing by the Roman inscription. Walk down the paved road once again and take the left fork onto the dirt road. Go down it for few kilometres, passing Nabaa Lassa spring and the organic farm. Continue on past the Nabaa el Hadid spring, continue and take left turn on another dirt road, climb up to reach a "cartridge graveyard" then take the footpath towards Nabaa el Qana spring. Follow the dirt road until you reach the paved road than another dirt road follows, make sure you do not miss the turn to the right toward the cliff, a great panoramic trail awaits you following a footpath under the cliff crossing the bridge and later climbing toward the paved road again near the Monastery.

- There are no dangerous or difficult passages along this section; the trail consists of dirt and paved roads as well as goat trails.
- This section is completely marked.

Getting there
From Beirut, take the coastal highway to Nahr el Kelb. Five hundred meters after the tunnel, go right on the road that leads to Faraya via Hrajel, pass the Faraya roundabout and head to the Chabrouh Dam. The trail starts near Ordres de Malte (Markaz el Fadi). To reach Afqa, take the left fork in Mayrouba and pass the villages of Qehmez and Lassa. The trail starts near the Mar Takla church after the Afqa cave. The roads are paved and public transportation is available to Faraya. The LMT is accessible from Faraya and Afqa.
