Palestra - Al Jazeerah

Built during the Roman period, this marketplace was destroyed in the byzantine period. It consists of 30-meter-wide square area enclosed inside a granite colonnade. During the byzantine period, this monument was covered with deep reservoirs, which may have been used in the purple dye industry.
